Three California poppies: one fully open, one opening, one a bud still. The blossoms are four petals, which flat when fully open, with a cluster of stamen in the center. The leaves are small, narrow, and abundant. California poppies have golden-orange blossoms and light green leaves and stems, but this simple sketch is black and white, with sketchy white lines on a solid black background.
