Never Be Deceived

“Here you will tread upon a spark, but here, and there, and behind you, and in front of you, and everywhere, flames will blaze up. It is a subterranean fire. You cannot put it out.” — August Spies, Haymarket martyr, revolutionary anarchist. Four panels arranged on a page. The progression through the panels shows a glimpse of a watch tower, of a wall with cracks and rubble, of flames blazing through a broken wall, and finally of a large structure with a watch tower engulfed in flames. Detailed descriptions of each panel are in the alt text and description of individual panels found at: CalendsOfApril.com/cannot

You Cannot Put It Out

"Anarchists know that a long period of education must precede any great fundamental change in society, hence they do not believe in vote-begging, nor political campaigns, but rather in the development of self-thinking individuals." – Lucy Parsons. These words emerge from with the seeds of a flower, travel through rain as seeds begin to germinate underground, emerge with roots and flower buds, and blossom into flowers in full bloom. The illustration is captioned: Excerpt from "The Principles of Anarchism" by Lucy Parsons. Illustrated by Calends of April. kolektiva.social/@CalendOfApril. CalendsOfApril.com/glowing. The flowers and seeds are red with sketchy black outlines, the soil is black, and the background is gray. The caption includes a circle-A for anarchism.
